“People close to us come and go, and it is painful, yet I saw how my mother’s financial planning for them greatly benefitted the bereaved families,” Jody Goh relates how she was influenced by her mother, who has been a financial consultant for the past 32 years. As a natural people-person, Jody found her calling, in 2018, in an industry that allows her to meet with people and listen to their intimate stories and problems.
“Before this, I was always facing the computer screen at work for hours on end, and I craved human interaction and connection,” she says. Now, her specialisation in insurance protection is one that she holds personally dear to her heart. She also strives to educate clients on overall family planning, herself being in the demographic of young families.
She appreciates how her clients treat her as an individual who is trustworthy, never pushy, and open to listening to their financial and personal matters. “I am a friend first, and a trusted financial consultant second,” she emphasises. The term financial planning itself is not a one-stop solution which is why Jody ensures she is with her clients every step of the way; it becomes generational as their kids will also forge trust and financial planning with her.

Along with her twin sister Jean Goh, also a Prudential Senior Financial Consultant, Jody is most uplifted and empowered when she discusses cases and difficult days with her sister. Since young, they were taught to never classify people – having an open mind and being adaptable were traits that her household upheld.
So long as Jody does her best to find possible solutions for her clients, she knows she has done her part. “Even for clients with limited financial resources, I will walk through with them and equip them with strategies or help them make prioritisations,” she points out. No matter the situation, Jody holds firm to perseverance and is always on her toes to journey with her clients.
